Young Child Academy-Seattle Reviews

I must agree as well that this is definitely a school with very nurturing and caring teachers. The entire staff are wonderful leaders. The only low enrollment is the elementary level aged students since the past two years YCA has incorporated 1-5 grades which is now called the Queen Anne Community School. Students may not have PE per say, but there is yoga incorporated into the curriculum as well as walking to the park daily after lunch so exercise is very much a part of the student's day.

Contrary to what that previous poster said, YCA is anything but just a daycare! The staff and teachers at YCA have nurtured, taught and loved our two kids from infant to Pre-K; our children are so far ahead of the curve socially and emotionally and mentally because of it. Enrollment is anything but low; there are long waiting lists to get into YCA. The programs are well developed, thoughtful, and engaging. Not only is there a lot of outdoor activity, but the kids are taught early on about community service, empathy, and responsibility. Our kids have loved each and every day at YCA as well as all their teachers; it's a fantastic preschool to send your children.

Good daycare not a school!, low enrollment and poor planning, no PE or outdoor activities.

We have 2 children here and have been here for 2 years. The concept is based on the Waldorf philosophy which we prefer. I feel good leaving my children here full-time. They learn, play, and are involved in the community, the latter of which is unusual in preschools. The teachers are great and the kids are loved.
